A History Lesson with CCB- The Swamp Fox

CCB’s seating is being used in Charleston’s Historic Francis Marion Hotel, which was built in 1924 which features a restaurant and bar named Swamp Fox.

The hotel was named after General Francis Marion who was called the “Swamp Fox” of the American Revolution.  The General was know as a commissioned officer and for leading fighters in the low-country swamps of South Carolina.

CCB’s “Raleigh” Series was used as the basis for a long banquette in the restaurant and bar area of the hotel.

This seating style features a ISB with wide channeled sections with “X” stitching and a large uph “push button,” a roll over top detail, a shaped uph end panel, a large 1 piece “big seat”, and wooden legs.

Thank you to Charleston Commercial Interiors for the opportunity to be a part of this piece of the hotel’s history.

Rooted in the Community – Shagbark

At CCB, we are proud of our “Manufactured in the USA” products and we are excited to be a part of projects that provide support for their local communities.

Shagbark is a restaurant located in Richmond, VA that provides a showcase for local farmers, fisherman, and artisans.  The name “Shagbark” which is a Hickory tree embodies their beliefs of “staying routed in the community, but branching out.”

CCB’s “Greensboro” Series was modified to create banquettes for this project.

  • Diamond tufted uph detail added on the ISB (some seating with matching uph covered buttons and others with brass buttons for contrast)
  • Wood frame below the seat was narrowed and the bead board detail was omitted to create a more refined and tailored look

  • A taller tapered wood leg was used

  • Custom stain color

Long banquette seating, like was produced for this project provides flexibility for larger and smaller groups to be seated together.

Thank you to Helen Reed Design for the opportunity to be a part of this project that supports the Richmond area!

CCB’s Seating doesn’t have to stand alone- Stafford’s Pier Restaurant

Did you know that most banquettes if specified for more than 8′ in length are typically built in multiple sections?

For access into buildings, based on material widths & yields, for frame integrity, weight & handling, shipment & packaging services, if requested)

This week we are featuring a project where multiple banquettes were used together to create a larger seating statement.

Stafford’s Pier Restaurant located in Harbour Springs, MI

In 2 corners of this restaurant, seating was designed to have a large unified look but, yet with separate distinctive groupings.

Individual banquettes were constructed and then once delivered to the site, shared uph top caps and end panels were attached to allow for the units to not have an apparent start or stop between them.

CCB’s “Shop Special” Series-modified

  • High to low sloping back heights and some at 1 height
  • Wide vertical channel upholstery detail
  • Shared uph top caps and end panels
  • Stained wood corner fillers

Thank you to KLK Partners LLC and to our CCB Sales Representative, Saeth Gronberg for the opportunity to be a part of this project.

Contact CCB to find out how we can assist you with creating custom unified seating groups.
